Just returned from Vegas where I won a blackjack tournament.  It certainly helped my confidence level to know that I was in my “lucky time” while I was playing in the tournament  Yes, I ran my astrology chart before I left on the trip so that I would know when the best times would be for me to gamble.  Of course some people are luckier then others, but it always helps to know when you are in your “lucky times” and when you are not, when you are planning to gamble.  It certainly made my trip to Vegas a lot more fun!

February 7 – Full Moon in Leo @ 4:45 PM EST –  When the Moon is in Leo we usually want to have fun.  It is a wonderful time for romance and creativity.

There is a tendency for energy and tension to run high during the few days prior to, during, and after the Full Moon phase.  Everything is magnified during this phase of the moon. Try not to overreact, exaggerate, or overextend yourself.  This is a time when projects that we have started during a new moon cycle will come to fruition.

This is an excellent time to explore creative activities, allow yourself to be playful, entertain and enjoy friends and let the child in you come out to play. If you were born with your Sun or Moon in Leo this will be an especially active and significant cycle for you.

January 23^rd – New Moon in Aquarius @ 2:39 AM EST – The New Moon is always a good time to initiate new projects and ideas. This can be a very accelerating time. Keep in mind that Mars will also be stationing retrograde on this day, which may throw a kink in what would normally be a very enthusiastic cycle. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

When the Moon is in Aquarius it is a wonderful time to think out of the box.  You can be creative and do things in a new and different way.  You may become more interested in spending time on your computer, astrology, public and social affairs and have more interest in  the over all well being of others during this lunar cycle.

If you were born with your sun or moon in Aquarius this lunar cycle will be very personal and significant for you.  It will be a great time for you to take the initiative to begin something new and different.  You can be more inspired to become the unique and adventurous person that you truly are.

January 23^rd – Mars Stations Retrograde in Virgo – Unlike Mercury, which stations retrograde 3 times a year for 21 days, Mars only goes retrograde every 2 years for almost 3 months.  During this cycle you are likely to notice a change in your energy level. You may experience frustration in areas of your life pertaining to which ever house Mars is stationing in.  For example if Mars is stationing in your 6^th house there may be frustration pertaining to your work environment, or someone you work with.

When Mars is retrograde it can be disruptive to your routine and habits.  Sudden reversals of interest (passion) and drive (ambition) are likely to occur during this retrograde cycle. This cycle also brings issues to the surface which one has either forgotten or deliberately repressed because of their disruptive qualities.

On a physical level (after all Mars is all about the physical energy) you may find yourself wanting to do 5 minutes less on the treadmill or a few less reps on the weight machines.  You may even hit the snooze button an extra time or two.  I guess you are sensing by now, that this is a cycle that requires a conservation of energy.  Less is more and better.  Remember the story about the tortoise and the hare.  Patience will be a true virtue for you.   This will be easier for some then for others.  Those born with their Sun, Moon or ascendant in Aries and/or Virgo will be especially affected by this retrograde cycle.

 This would be a good time to practice yoga, tae chi, or some of the other more methodical slower moving arts.

January 9^th – Full Moon in Cancer – This is when that which you have been waiting for will come to fruition.  Home and family matters will become very important. Activities that are taking place on or around this date will generate a high degree of energy and magnitude.  Emotions and sensitivity tend to escalated during this phase of the Moon.

 Capricorns are going through a transformation cycle in their lives as Pluto is currently traveling through their Sun sign. Those who were born Dec. 21^st – 27^th will have a pretty good idea of what I am referring to, as they have been going through this since 2008.  This could be a physical or psychological transformation.  You may find yourself wanting to be in control. 

Since Pluto is a very slow moving planet, it takes Pluto 12 years to travel through a sign, the effects are also very slow to develop and manifest.

If your birthday falls between Dec. 28^th and Jan. 20^th, you should begin to feel the onset of this transforming cycle but to the full extent of it until a few years down the road.

Yes, I know better then to go shopping when Mercury is Rx. But its Christmas, and all the stores are having spectacular bargains. So on the day before Mercury went direct I proceeded to venture out to partake in the BIG sale at Macay’s dept. store with coupons in hand. It didn’t take me long to find the bargains that I was looking for. I even found the bargains that I didn’t know I was looking for.

As it turned out I ended up having to make two more trips back to Macay’s on the proceeding days to exchange or return most of my bargains. Fortunately I saved the receipts. The moral to the story is, you can save yourself a lot of time and energy if you will try to avoid shopping when Mercury is Rx. Just think of all the money you can save.

Feeling like you are stuck in mud and can’t quit get anything finished?  If it makes you feel any better you are not the only one that is experiencing this frustration.

Mercury, the planet that rules communication, mental activity, travel and computers is traveling in retrograde motions until the 14^th of December.  Although this not a fun time it can be productive if you choose to use it to your advantage.  As they say, “For warned is for armed.”

This is a great time to regroup, reorganize and reprocess information.  Let’s make the most of this retrograde cycle.  Clean out those closets and drawers and recycle those old Christmas decorations that you will never use again.

This is also a wonderful time to pass on all of those personal and house hold items that are no longer serving you.  Let the holiday spirit and Mercury retrograde allow you to enjoy more free space in you home.

Welcome to my new website and my first ever blog post! The website has been a few months in the making, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We’re still tweaking and installing a few new items, so I hope you’ll check back frequently to review the changes.

As for the blog, this is my opportunity to offer you additional information on Astrology and Astrological Counseling, provide helpful hints and tips and updated horoscope information. I’ll be the first to admit I’ve never “blogged” before, but I’m excited about the opportunities to share new information and increase my reach to new readers.
